Well, the holidays are over. Mike and I took time off through December, and had to turn down a few shows (including New Year's Eve), although we did have the pleasure of sitting in with Roy Caldwell at the Hamlin Pub in Clarkston, we played half a set and then joined him for a few tunes. Mike and I have been hard at work on our demo over the past couple of weeks.  We've been recording at Mike's using Ableton Live on a Windows computer thru a Line 6 UX1 Toneport.  Ableton comes 'free' with the Toneport, and it's pretty solid for a digital audio workstation (DAW).  We've been pleasantly surprised at the quality.  Since we get mixed reports from booking agents and other musicians as

We're off this weekend.  On Friday, Mike is going to head out to see 'Thank You Thing' in Pinckney - the drummer is Matt Renko, our first drummer from our old Aisle 5 days.  I'll be spending time with friends and family this weekend. We had a great time at the charity auction last night.  The folks from Mayfair took the time to set up a nice comfy stage with tables, stools, throw rugs, and even a couple of nice fake trees.  Even though it's not always comfortable playing in a brightly lit room, it made it a little more cozy. Well, last night was our first gig in this 'configuration' as a two-piece acoustic duo/project.  It was a lot of fun, but it was a little surreal.  We played at the Barnstormer in Whitmore Lake.  Seeing as Mike and I first met there back in 1994, it was a nice little 'homecoming'. We're getting ready for our three shows in November, and we went back to revisit some songs we haven't played in a while to make sure we're ready for a full 3 hour night.  Everything sounded really good after a couple of passes, and we worked out a couple of nice arrangements for songs that needed tweaking. All in all, things are going great!

The 10 Pegs project was semi-derailed due to timing and family issues at home. All is not lost, however.
