Oxford Tap Saturday 10/15/11

Hey folks, Mike and I are back after a summer break at the Oxford Tap in Oxford,  MI on Saturday 10/15/11 (tomorrow).  We'll be playing our usual acoustic fare, a mix our our acoustic arrangements of pop and rock tunes from the 60s thru today.

Long Overdue Update - Upcoming Shows

Well, the holidays are over. Mike and I took time off through December, and had to turn down a few shows (including New Year's Eve), although we did have the pleasure of sitting in with Roy Caldwell at the Hamlin Pub in Clarkston, we played half a set and then joined him for a few tunes. He is an awesome performer with such a soulful voice. I strongly recommend going to see him if you're out his way (he usually stays a little north of Metro Detroit, but he does play Royal Oak occasionally).

We played the Oxford Tap again this past Saturday. We really love that place - great staff, a great sounding room and it's always packed with a friendly crowd.

We have a couple more shows scheduled there - Saturday, January 29th and Saturday, March 5th. It's not exactly local for me or for Mike (it's about an hour drive for both of us), but we like it so much that it's worth the drive. If you're out that way, stop by and see us. Directions

Although February will probably be quiet (I'll be out of town for part of the month), the calendar is starting to fill up. I'll be posting some more show dates soon.

Last Minute Gig at Oxford Tap in Oxford Saturday, 11/27

We're Still Here...

Just a quick note...

Mike and I have been quietly working on a demo in Mike's basement studio, covers to show what we sound like in a bar/small club format.

Our current booking availability is zero due to some personal reasons (family stuff, work schedules), but it looks like the calendar may open up somewhere around the end of February/beginning of March.  We're really excited to get back to playing live.

Long Overdue Update

Mike and I have been hard at work on our demo over the past couple of weeks.  We've been recording at Mike's using Ableton Live on a Windows computer thru a Line 6 UX1 Toneport.  Ableton comes 'free' with the Toneport, and it's pretty solid for a digital audio workstation (DAW).  We've been pleasantly surprised at the quality.  Since we get mixed reports from booking agents and other musicians as to whether to supply a mix of snippets, or full songs, we're recording full songs and then we'll grab snippets for mixdown, and probably have 2 'demos' available.

We've got rough tracks for several songs complete, and no final mixes, so there's still some work to do.  We expect to be done by New Years to start shopping around for new venues in January.

10 Pegs @ Billy's Roadhouse Tonight

We'll be up at Billy's Roadhouse tonight for a fun filled night of certified acoustic rock.  Chase those turkey-day leftovers down with a lot of cheap booze, and then get someone to drive you home.  Don't blame us for your hangover tomorrow.

We'll have an opener tonight - Mike Stern.  It's gonna be as fun show!
